FUELLING THE FUTURE

Out Of Thin Air

VISION

A circular carbon economy

Oota Cleantech  sees a future where fossils fuels are left in the ground. We are relentlessly pursuing our mission to produce carbon-neutral sustainable synthetic fuels, starting with our carbon dioxide to ethylene electrochemical system.

Oota is striving for a fully integrated system from carbon capture to high quality carbon-neutral fuels and lubricants. Our company is committed to reshaping the way the world perceives carbon emissions - not as pollution, but as a resource, to be recycled again and again.

OUR TECHNOLOGY

Our innovative, scalable novel electrochemical technology generates  carbon-neutral ethylene 'out of thin air' using renewable energy and water to recycle carbon dioxide. Ethylene is an ideal building block for manufacturing high quality, carbon-neutral fuels and lubricants. Our technology uses no exotic materials, rare or precious metals. Our system operates safely and effective at room temperature and low pressure.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

Our innovative scalable design is based on non-toxic chemistry. The process uses only environmentally benign inputs and materials and does not produce any hazardous waste streams. Our by-products are oxygen and hydrogen, both useful chemicals.

SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS

By replacing fossil derived petroleum products with carbon-neutral ones derived from our system, it becomes possible to use internal combustion engine powered equipment with zero-carbon emissions. We use carbon dioxide to make our products and when they are burned, the carbon dioxide returns to the air.

Displacing fossil fuel consumption is critical to our future, and this is one technology to help that journey.

Pioneering Sustainable Innovations through Necessity and Ingenuity

Due to our remote location in Far North Queensland, Australia we have had to rely on sheer ingenuity and creativity to design and make many components and auxiliary systems.  Our electrochemical system utilises custom-made components, algorithms and manufacturing processes. Our advanced manufacturing methods are dedicated to minimising environmental impact and maximising resource efficiency.

Future Plans

PILOT PLANT

Building on the success of our demonstration unit, the next step is to construct a pilot plant to provide additional confidence in the technology required by investors, collaborators and customers.

RENEWABLE ENERGY

Our electrochemical system is a complementary  technology for integration with wind and solar that can use surplus electricity.

CARBON-NEUTRAL PRODUCTS

From Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to lubricants, our system unlocks opportunities to replace products derived from fossil fuels with clean carbon-neutral, drop-in replacements.

PARTNERSHIPS

We welcome expressions of interest for collaboration with renewable energy providers and savvy partners who are serious about making a meaningful contribution to a sustainable future.

COLLABORATION

Partner with us

We are seeking strategic partners to collaborate on scaling our technology, developing pilot projects, and expanding into new markets. Together, we can drive the adoption of carbon-neutral fuels and lubricants and make a significant impact on global sustainability efforts.

We are a small and nimble team of chemistry, arts, IT and engineering professionals based in Australia.

Building on more than a decade of specialist fuel and lubricants experience, one of our founders has spent over 25 years exploring scalable pathways for producing sustainable alternatives for fossil fuel products.

This research culminated in the first designs of the electrolyser at the heart of our system.

Our diverse skill sets, practical skills and ingenuity have enabled us to make rapid progress. Our journey continues as we build our fully integrated pilot plant.
