Materials

A special feature of our electrolyser is that it is based on green chemistry.  Our electrolyser design does not use any rare or precious metals. Using common metals and materials reduces the cost of our electrolyser components. The ability to replace and refurbish components extends the life of the electrolyser and reduces environmental problems associated with the eventual disposal of worn-out components.

Non- toxic green chemistry
The process uses only environmentally benign inputs and materials and does not produce any hazardous waste streams. The only by-products are oxygen and hydrogen, both useful chemicals, The system operates at room temperature and at low pressure.

Reduce curtailment
Due to the ability of the electrolyser to match the fluctuating production of renewables, it can utilise energy that would otherwise be wasted.  By regulating the local grid, damaging transient loads on wind turbines are reduced, significantly increasing the life of the turbines. Our system can increase utilisation of renewable energy assets by using surplus electricity to produce clean, high purity ethylene.

Eliminate logistics and improve safety
This technology eliminates the need to ship ethylene around the world and reduces the need to maintain large inventories on site. Produce on-site, on-demand, store less and improve safety.

When used to make replacements for fossil fuels, carbon-neutral ethylene based products enable the continued use of internal combustion engines without premature obsolescence or having to change equipment or distribution infrastructure.
